Kenny Bass stands near the center, slightly to the viewer's right, firing an AK-47 toward the left. His feet are spread on uneven broken masonry, and the rifle extends almost horizontally from his shoulder. A sling loops below his arms. A pale dust cloud raised by the concussion of rifle fire spreads across the lower left.
Broken blocks, slabs and twisted framing cover the ground and pile along the low horizon. At the far left, an interrupted dark-yellow ribbed form marks the upper outline of a semi-trailer. The smoother cab continues to its right, where its hood and lower body are obscured by debris. The double-decker bus is outside the frame. Sky occupies more than half the photograph, with blue strongest at the upper left and broad pale cloud elsewhere.

Bass's rifle and bent arms form the strongest horizontal line against the sky. Dust lifted by the shots hangs low over the rubble at left. The faint yellow trailer and cab are easiest to distinguish by following the interrupted ribbed edge behind the debris.

Historical context
Bass fired at a semi-truck and a double-decker bus to disable them after the vehicles were used to close a breach in the perimeter fence. Part of the semi-truck and trailer is faintly visible behind the rubble; the bus is outside the frame.

I was standing on the remains of a bunker blown flat after a looter mishandled explosives. The blast killed him, breached the perimeter fence and prompted us to begin actively patrolling and protecting the complex.
We had crashed a fully loaded semi-truck and trailer together with a double-decker bus to block the breach. I fired at both vehicles to disable them. Part of the semi-truck is faintly visible behind the rubble; the bus is outside the frame.
