Marines on Armored Vehicle

A BRDM-2 armored reconnaissance vehicle faces the camera near the center of a broad yard. Kenny Bass sits front and center with his boots apart and a rifle across his lap. Five Marines stand or lean behind him. Sergeant McManus stands at the far viewer's left. Corporal Weaver is farther back on the left. One Marine in the rear remains unidentified. Tim Jones is behind Bass toward the viewer's right, and then-Lieutenant Borneo stands at the far viewer's right, physically to Bass's left.

One Marine wears an issued desert camouflage boonie cover. Immediately behind and to the viewer's left of the armored vehicle is a smaller-looking car destroyed by an explosion, its apparent size reduced by distance. Broken blocks, pipes, twisted metal and other debris spread across the bare foreground. Low buildings and several indistinct vehicles sit in the right background beneath a bright, nearly white sky.

Bass anchors the group at the vehicle's front while the five standing figures form a shallow arc above him. He wears a headset with an earpiece and microphone connected to a small chest-mounted squad communication device. The wrecked car and scattered debris place the posed group within a visibly damaged industrial yard.

One Marine in the rear remains unidentified. The exact BRDM-2 subvariant remains unresolved.
