Kenny Bass is a creative strategist and builder, Marine Corps combat veteran, and co-founder of The Battle Buddy Foundation. A speaker, author and photographer, he also develops websites and accessible digital experiences. After surviving an IED blast during a counter-ambush patrol in Iraq in 2003, he returned home carrying physical and invisible wounds of war. Years later, his service dog Atlas helped him reenter public life and inspired a mission serving other veterans. Kenny’s current work includes If Not for the Blast, Atlas & Friends, and A Marine’s Disposable War.

A Marine’s Disposable War brings together fifteen photographs made in Iraq in 2003, with a credit and provenance for each work. Spent received Bronze in the 2026 Analog Sparks awards, Photojournalism / Conflict. Exhibit XO develops an accessibility-first approach to experiencing photography.
